Thanks to starts we purchased last week from Seattle Tilth our on-site demonstration gardens are planted and ready for spring. In previous years we have focused on seeds, but this year to increase our production we decided that starts were the right way to go. Produce grown in our gardens is available to clients - fresh off the vine. Several dedicated volunteers keep the gardens going through the growing season from this stage through harvests. Not only do our gardens provide produce, they also provide a learning opportunity for clients that may not have had experience with home gardening. Several times throughout the spring and summer we offer workshops on container and small space gardening, and clients can watch our own process as the season develops. As our little starts grow, we'll post more pictures.
