Last week, we found out one of our clients had died. When I found out who the client was, it made me very sad. This client expressed his thanks to every volunteer at the Food Bank every time he came. When I read his obituary it made me surer than ever that the White Center Food Bank’s policy of treating clients with dignity was right. Treating clients with respect means having an indoor waiting room so they can wait for their turn in comfort out of the weather. It also means removing soft, rotten fruit from the produce tables so the clients don’t have to touch it. Every client is a person not just an address or a statistic. Thank you to all the volunteers that treat our clients with respect.
