Are you planning or starting to plant your home veggie garden? Consider planting a row for hungry families served by the WCFB.Produce can be prohibitively expensive for families with limited incomes, but so necessary for a healthy diet. Fresh veggies and fruits are highly prized items at the food bank and are quickly chosen. There is no such thing as too much produce at the food bank.
Seeds are pretty cheap and home gardens so abundant. I can tell you from personal experience that it is so satisfying to grow and harvest greens, for example, bring a big box of them into the food bank, and witness our clients choose them with such delight and appreciation.
Please plant a row for our hungry neighbors! The WCFB accepts food donations Monday through Friday 8:30 to 5:00--but it is better to bring fresh produce either the afternoon before or the morning of distributions which are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and the third Saturday of each month. Thanks for thinking ahead and for your generosity!
